Beginners:

Tuesday we had a rough class. I had you close your eyes to actually test your knowledge of the things we have been learning over the last few weeks. Some of you knew it, some of you didnt. Keep up with the material. For your yellow belt you need to learn:

Dojo Rules, Basics, Japanese Vocabulary, Techniques, etc.
Proper Stances
Your kicks: Front, Round, Side, Back
6 Punch Series and 6 Block Series
H-Form Kata
Ippon #1, #2, #3, #4, #5

Learn Ippon #1 and you have the rest.

Ippon #2 change the shuto (knife strike) to a hammer fist

Ippon #3 change the shuto from #1 to a right upside down (inverted) knuckle thrust (leopard strike) to throat

Ippon #4 change the shuto from #1 to a tate zuki (vertical fist strike) to rib cage

Ippon #5 change the shuto from #1 to a palm heel strike to the nose (just like our self defense)

If you have everything else, your almost ready to be tested. Just be patient and continue learning.

If you forgot the password - ask me about it in class.

Don’t forget to keep reviewing your punches, blocks, kicks, falls, ippons, and self defense.
